it!If you've tried the do-it-yourself route and things are a mess, don't worry and don't blame yourself! This stuff can get hairy. That's why people like me spend years learning and can make a living doing it. If it were easy, nobody would pay us for it!
Rather than put up a site that is a big, fat mess, get some help. The hardest step is always admitting you have a problem, after all. Any competent designer will be happy to help you translate your vision into reality. For help in making the choice, read my tips on courting your dream designer (or just cut to the chase and contact me for an estimate).
One thing your new designer should not do, however, is ridicule your work. If you want to poke fun at your own troubles and the designer laughs along with you, that's fine. But real pros won't make you feel inadequate just because you can't do their jobs. If your designer makes you feel uncomfortable with your efforts, find someone else. You're the one paying for services, and you don't need to pay good money to interact with unpleasant people. (Most of us can find that for free.)
